The issue faced by iphone users while changing their email id for icloud
account with existing secondary emails and they face the error message apple id
this email address is not available choose a different address. Sometimes the users
are prompted to verify your email address.Using secondary email Id to create the Apple iCloud
ID blocks the Apple ID creation process.
So when you are trying to change the Apple ID email it will say "This
email address is not available. Choose a different address."
“This email address is not available for use as an Apple ID.
You may already have an Apple ID associated with this address. Please try again
or sign in using your existing Apple ID.”
In order to fix the issue you can try below
solutions:
Fix 1: Remove email from secondary
Please check if the email addresses you are
using are secondary to some other emailId which is registered at Apple. In this
case remove the email Id from secondary and then you should be able to create a new icloud account with that
email address.
Fix 2: delete from Apple server
·
Login to the Apple ID
management page: https://appleid.apple.com/account/manage. You would be prompted with same email id authorization.
AT this point enter a different email address verify the same with inboxed code.
Now, this other email address will become your Apple ID, which you don’t want
to be. Below steps are to change back to
the Apple ID email address you were using in the first place. Click "Edit" at the right of the
"Account" section. Remove your original Apple ID email address as an
alternate "reachable at" address. Click done.
·
Click
"Edit" at the right of the "Account" section again. Now Change
your Apple ID back to your original email address that you want to be using.
Enter the verification code from the email you get sent. Click done.
·
Check
if the "different" email address you were using is showing up as a
"Reachable At" email address.
If you get kicked out while doing
above steps, just log back in and carry on where you left off.
Fix 3 : Try @google.com
In case the email Id you are using are from gmail domain you can use
@googlemail.com and @gmail.com interchangeably for gmail accounts. So set the apple id to the googlemail one. Hope this
helps someone too.
