iPhone Xs/8 : Random signal drop in iOS 12 [Solved]


iPhone X/8/7/6 users after upgrading the iPhone to iOS 12 are reporting about randomly losing cellular connection. The signal drop in iOS 12 is happening at any moment and the cellular network come back after few seconds. The signal bar show like 5 bar and randomly drops to nil bar and after that comes back in few 10-15 seconds.

The signal drop in iOS 12 can happened at any moment while moving, while still or using any random apps in iPhone. Airplane mode toggle does not fix the issue and the signal continuously going off randomly in iPhone with iOS 12. The problem extends when iphone X/8 plus constantly searching even everything else working fine.
For many user the issue is more frequent and happening several times during a short surf of Facebook. iOS 12 user  specialy AT&T and Verizon are facing signal loss problem a lot. Sometimes it gives the error message “Couldn’t activate cell network”

How to fix iPhone randomly losing cellular network after iOS12



Fix 1: Reset the network settings
One of the first troubleshooting you can try is to network reset. This will re-register your phone to network. Open Settings app->Tap General->Tap Reset->Tap Reset Network Settings. Please test again after the reset

Fix 2: carrier settings update.
It might be possible that your network carrier provider have releases an update and you have not received that. So please check with your network carrier provider by contacting them.

Fix 3: Reboot the iPhone

Usually are normal restart should fix the issue. But if that does not help make hard reboot. To do so:
-Press and hold down the Home button and wake/sleep button until the Apple logo appears.
For iPhone 7 users please press Home button and “Volume Down” button to make it.
For iPhone 8/X users: press and quickly release the “Volume Up” button, then press and quickly release the “Volume Down” button, finally press and hold the “Power” button.

Fix 4 : Re-Insert the SIM card/ Test with other SIM
Removing and re-inserting the SIM card sometimes also work in fixing network problems as it has an effect of resetting your device’s network configuration.

Even you should try with different network sim in your phone and check the signal behavior. By this you can narrow your problem

Fix 5: Reset all settings
You can finally reset all your iPhone setting completely from settings. Go to setting ->general->reset.
