iPhone Fix “Can't install because it's not currently available from Software Update server”


Many of the Apple devices like iPhone 7, macbook and iPad users are facing issue while connecting the iPhone to macbook. When users connects the iPhone to mac it not charging continuously and dropping the connection and after while mac first gives a pop up saying "A software update is required to connect to your iOS device. Would you like to download and install this update now?"


When iPhone or mac users click the prompt to download the update, a progress bar loads and get another error message get another error: "Can't install because it's not currently available from Software Update server". Due to this users you won’t be able to perform some of the basic features on the iPhone and mac like charging, restore or sync. The iPhone will vacillates between charging and not charging when plugged in.
The issue is reported with iPhone X and iPhone 7,6s, iPad pro majorly  running on the latest iOS 12 and iOS 12.0.1 when connecting iPhone to iTunes or mac gives error “Can't install because it's not currently available from Software Update server.” The issue is very frequent to many users and that same warning repeatedly on is so annoying!


How to fix “Can't install because it's not currently available from Software Update server”

Fix 1: Force restart your iPhone

 A hard reset to your iPhone can possibly fix the issue and iphone should be able to connect to mac. But please not the issue may reappear again. In which case please proceed to Fix 2 as shown below.

Fix 2: Install Xcode on mac



Installing XCode will fix the issue on your mac. Xcode is apple is iOS software development SDK used by developers and seems to be working solution to fix “Can't install because it's not currently available from Software Update server.”  
1.      Open Appstore (link) in your mac
2.     Search Xcode
3.     Install the Xcode, please note it’s a big file of almost 5GB.
4.     Launch Xcode and check if loads fine
5.     You may now close Xcode
6.     Open Itune and connect the iPhone
7.     iPhone should connect fine now



Please not you can also install the lastet Beta version of Xcode in case the official version did not help you.

Fix 3: Update to iOS
It is possible that Apple Engineer are aware of the issue and working on it. Please always consider update iOS of your iPhone to get latest fixes.
