iPhone Lock screen blurry on 11Pro, XS Max /XR/8/7/6s plus

iPhone XS/XR/8 and iPhone 7/6s plus users after upgrading to iOS 12 are seeing blurry lock screen. After the iPhone is locked the wallpaper photo set on the lock screen becomes blurry  and the lock screen is completely blurry on iPhone XS and  no camera or flashlight option lower left-right areas. This surely a bug in the iPhone with iOS 12/12.1.4 causing lock screen to get blurry .

Further for some iPhone X users the lock screen getting blurry intermittently. It’s like once or twice the lock screen is getting blurred and a restart will fix it but the issue will reoccur again after sometime. While it does seems to be affected with 3D touch. It seems to start if you try and 3D touch an app and for some reasons it causes the lock screen wallpaper of iPhone to get blurry.

How to fix iPhone XS/XR blurry lock screen wallpaper :

Fix 1: Check DND Settings

The lock screen is blurred (and dimmed) in iOS 12 if you have Do Not Disturb and Bedtime turned on. This is normal behaviour. To turn that off Go to Settings > Do Not Disturb, and turn DND and Bedtime off. Hopefully this will fix the issue.

Fix 2: Reapply the iOS 12 update

One general fix for such issues is to restore the iPhone but rather than restoring from iTunes or iCloud you can reapply the same iOS update. To do that plug iPhone into computer, turn phone off, restart phone holding power and volume down, and when the Apple logo appears let go of power but keep holding volume down. If it’s successful you’ll see the connect to iTunes logo and you can “update” the phone again.

Fix 3: Hard restart the iPhone

As a workaround normally a restart to the iPhone will fix the issue for a while but if this also does not help do a hard reset to iPhone (hold sleep + top volume button, slide to power off).

Hopefully this will fix iPhone lock screen blurred issue. Please let us know in comment section.

Hard reset does not work. It still comes back later with blurry screen
