iPhone XS Max, XR, 8, 7 Plus users are facing issue that in iOS 12 voicemail is saying its full when it is not. To cross check that some of the users tried deleting all the voice mails from iPhone but still with no voice mail messages it is giving error voice mail is full.  People are wondering if there are any undeleted iPhone voicemail messages that are causing it.

iPhone X voice mail says full but no messages

Some articles suggest that voicemail is a carrier provider feature and affected users should contact their network service but the issue is seen across all carrier providers like Verizon, AT&T as it says “full voice messages" error on iPhone with iOS 12/12.1/12/3. But this is very weird as there are no voicemail in it and still says voice mail is full.

One iPhone XS user on iOS 12 reported it as
“I spoke with Verizon tech support.  Several people have experienced the same problem and it’s only occurring with Apple devices.  I was transferred to a second level tech.  While I had deleted all my emails, they he was still seeing that I had 40 voicemails.  He was able to do a reset to remove them.

“My Iphone 7S with ATT service will not let others leave voice messages. I currently only have three short messages saved within my voicemail. Why is this happening? This problem is getting progressively worse.
I depend on this phone for work and it's embarrassing when people think I don't clear my messages.

How to fix iPhone XS says voicmail full when all the messages are deleted :iOS 12.3

Fix 1: Entering new password then calling voicemail a second time

One most successful way to fix the issue is to change the voice mail password and try second time to access the voice mail
1.       Settings - > Phone - > Change Voicemail Password

2.      Enter new PIN twice and it should save.
3.      Go to Home screen.
4.      Call *86.
5.      Prompt will ask for voicemail PIN.  Do NOT enter it.  Just hang up.
The Problem should be solved now and voicemail should not report voice mail full issue.

Fix 2 : Delete manually

The thing that did it was calling *86 to listen to my messages that way. it said that my mailbox was full and immediately afterward said there was nothing in my inbox.
-Call voicemail to listen to messages
-From your AT&T wireless phone
-From your AT&T wireless phone, press and hold 1.
-If prompted, enter your voicemail password. Any new unheard messages will begin to play. Afterwards all calls should go to voice mail without the error.
-You might/should find any saved or undeleted voicemails there which would need to be removed.

Hopefully this will help you to fix voicemail full issue in iPhone.
