iOS 11/11.4/ and iOs 12 the issue of black screen is reported on the iPhone X.
Some iPhone 8 users are also facing with black screen with spinning wheel like
iPhone X.

FaceId, OLED screen etc. However it is also facing many issue like overheating,

But
iPhone X screen going black which is also called as black screen of death, is a major issue for the issue. The black
screen of death is not a new issue in the iPhone as it has been reported to
occur with older iPhone version like iPhone 5/6 blue screen of death.
When does black screen of death issue can occur in iPhone X/8:
Actually
there are no fixed reasons or circumstances when your iPhone starts to show
black screen suddenly. As for some users it happened while charging iPhone X
while for some users simply using some app like Facebook or Instagram etc.
What is the cause of black screen of death iPhone X?
There
are few trouble shooting steps launched by Apple you can try them when iPhone X/8 do not start The
issue of screen going out black can occur due to system failure (crash) or
hardware fault which eventually triggered complete black screen on iPhone X. In
most cases the issue is generally occurred due to system crash internal to iOS.
But the same can occur due to hardware failure specially after doing some
repair work in iPhone X. Hardware failure are difficult to fix at user level
and it is always recommended to get your phone checked at authorized service center
only. We will be listing fixes below for system failure/crash.
How to fix iPhone x

Fix 1: Hard Restart the iPhone X when stuck on black screen with
spinning wheel
One way
to fix system failure or crash in iPhone X is to hard reset the iPhone. Please
follow following steps for that:
1)
Press and quickly release the Volume Up button.
2) Then
press and quickly release the Volume Down button.
3) Then
press and hold the right side button until the apple logo appears. Don't
release until you see the apple logo, then release it.
Usually
it takes 10 sec until the Apple logo appears but can take ~20 sec in case of
complete iOS failure.
Fix 2: Plugin the black screen iPhone X to computer (iTunes)
Access
the iPhone X with latest iTunes. Now by this you can try to reset an iPhone x
with black screen of death and restart it. Try plugging in the iphone into a
computer having iTunes. Hold the vol down and power button even after the apple
sign comes on. When you see the Connect
to iTunes screen, Do not release the buttons when you see the Apple logo
since it’ll need to enter recovery mode.
On the next screen you will see Restore
or Update. Select update if are running older version of iOS. If you are
already on the latest iOS version restore to the last iOS version you are known
to be stable and no black screen issue on iphone X.
Let iTunes
to attempt to reinstall iOS without erasing your data. iTunes will download the software for your device. If
the download time takes longer than 15 minutes, your device exits the Connect
to iTunes screen. In this case just wait until the iOS download is complete
then go back to the previous steps to enter recovery mode again.
Fix 3: Try Device Firmware Upgrade (DFU) mode to restore iphone x
DFU
mode is the dippiest way to reset iPhones. For this also you need a PC/mac to
enter your iPhone into DFU mode:
Step 1:
Connect the phone to computer and while iPhone is connected, press and hold the
Power button for about 3-5 sec.
Step 2: Now
hold the volume down button for 8-10sec. And release the power button after
that. Keep holding the vol down button for 4-6 sec. (Please note if you see Apple logo on iPhone screen
that means you held the buttons too long and need to start over again).
Step 3: If iPhone
screen stays black, it means you have successfully entered DFU mode. Now you
will be prompted with an alert message on your computer screen saying that
iTunes has detected your iPhone. After that message, follow the onscreen
prompts to complete the DFU mode recovery process. (If you see connected to
iTunes it means you have not entered DFU mode and need to start again)
Fix 4: if iPhone x screen black due to hardware issue
Even after trying above
steps your iPhone x screen goes black randomly and nothing else works and your
iPhone is within the one year manufacture warranty. It is suggested calling
apple support let them go through. Quite possible that this is a hardware issue
in your iPhone X.
