How to fix NULL message on iPhone - "Allow (null) to access"


Many iPhone 6,7 and iPhone X/8 users are reporting NULL application shown in settings. The Null is shown in the list of the apps and there is no way to open it. Moreover the users is unable to delete NULL entry in settings app. Setting app showing Null with no icon or name. There are no icon on home screen, just in the list of apps in settings. When I tap it shows "Allow (null) to access" .

This seems to be security flaw in the iPhone and iOS 12. As not only in the setting app but when you will open network settings app like Edge , you can see there are also null entry with message "Allow (null) to access". The issue seems to be present in latest iPhone XR on iOS 12. The Null entry shown randomly in different places and many users have queries like

How to delete the Null app from iPhone XR/XS/8/7/6 on iOS 12/11 :


Fix 1: Delete the null Entry app from iPhone


Go to Settings > General > Storage & iCloud Usage > Manage Storage . you should now see  the nameless app. By tapping on it, you would have the option Delete App which get rid of the problem.

Fix 2: Re-download the apps

In most of the cases the NULL app is shown in place of a app that is not downloaded or loaded properly in iPhone after iOS 12 upgrade. In that case you should look for any missing app in the iPhone like Weather, BBC news etc and download them again to compete the installation.

Fix 3 : Reset the iPhone and restore iOS

Make sure to take a backup of the iPhone using iTunes or iCloud before doing this. Please do a  full iPhone reset and restoring it off an iCloud backup. This will reset the iPhone and its app the Null issue should get  fixed.

Detailed steps:
1.    Go to Settings > General > Reset, then tap “Erase All Content and Settings.”
2.   On the Apps & Data screen, tap Restore from iCloud Backup, then sign in to iCloud.
3.   Proceed to “Choose backup,” then choose from a list of available backups in iCloud.
