iPhone/ /iPad : Apple CarPlay GPS showing wrong location [Fix]

Carplay offer many great feature for iPhone users including navigation maps but some of the car owner are reporting that CarPlay works except for navigation apps. There is CarPlay GPS issue - iPhone, iPad, iPod on iOS 12.  The CarPlay GPS location wrong and it does not matter which apps you are using for maps i.e whether you use Waze, Google maps or Apple maps, the location gets switched between the actual current location and somewhere 20-30 meters from the car or in some cases it is several miles away from actual location. It seems that the iPhone XR/XS/X or iPhone 8/7 plus GPS "pointer / compass" pointing at wrong location in maps. Doing system resets, network resets, delete and reinstall apple maps is not helping to fix the issue.

GPS car play maps issue

GPS apps on the iPhone works fine when not connected with CarPlay in this car.  The maps show incorrect GPS when connected to carplay only. GPS navigation system from the car works fine when the phone is not connected or using Carplay. Some users say GPS intermittently showing incorrect location when using CarPlay but for most of the iPhone user the GPS issue in carplay in very frequent and the iPhone XR/X users are seeing it much often while accessing the maps on Apple devices. The  issue is producible on multiple infotainment systems of different manufacturers. And the issue is repeatable. This also happens on an iPhone 7 Plus, 8 Plus and XS Max.

And the Wrong GPS location on Carplay is not only for random or dynamic location but also for saved location also like CarPlay Maps shows "Home" Location Inaccurate. The GPS Carplay Issues is with iPhone after Latest iOS 12  Upgrade.

One user stats as :

If I disconnect the phone, the car and iPhone GPS give me correct location. If I reconnect them, both give me the wrong location. When the car is not moving, the wrong location remains at the same spot even after I disconnect/reconnect the phone. So it's not giving a random location. It's off by 20-30 meters. Maybe iPhone can't interpret the GPS coordinates correctly from the car GPS antenna.

Why Carplay is showing working GPS location on iPhone XR/XS/X/8/7Plus on iOS 12:

It seems like a bug in the latest iOS 12 which is causing GPS location issue in Carplay. Technically, it sounds like the GPS in the head unit is malfunctioning. Some reports state that GPS location issue in CarPlay is fetched with the help of car and the cars which are not able to sync properly are facing these issue.
For now Apple is working on the issue and hopefully they will roll out a permanent fix for the issue in upcoming releases.

On my iPhone XR, I seem to have resolved this very issue of the maps being inaccurate by 100-300 feet by changing Settings - Cellular - Cellular data options - Voice & Data to “LTE, VoLTE Off”. My phone was defaulted to VoLTE On. Afterward, turn off Location Services and turn back on.

Prior to this change, as soon as my phone CarPlay connected to my Pioneer AVH-W4500NEX via wired or wireless, the map on the phone instantly shifted my location rendering any navigation app useless. I luckily found another thread which mentioned to change this carrier setting to 3G, and it worked after turning off/on Location Services. Then I tried LTE, VoLTE Off and that has seemed to work as well. So far so good.
