protective plastic case

Fix 2: Clean
the earpieces
This is another common cause of low call volume
in iPhone, Just take a clean Q tip and rub the speaker grill thoroughly(please
do not apply more pressure) Use alcohol if required but ensure that phone is
turned off. This has helped many iPhone users. Sounds silly but works like a
charm.
Over the time the speaker grill clogs up with
dust and lint. This is a work around for best results take the phone to the Apple
store get the device cleaned.
Fix 3: Put
it under water tap
This is one more way to remove any dust or
clog from iPhone 6s earpieces. Just put it under a running tap (very controlled
on earpiece only), (allow the water fall to maintain bobbled fall) directly
onto the earpiece (30 cm of fall will give an affective cleaning effect) and
help clean the screen that has become blocked with dust mixed with humidity
(sweat) with a toothbrush... (obviously,
do not submerge the phone in water)
Repeat this three times and then use a
concentration of airflow to dry the ear speaker opening. (Canned CO2 works
well) Obviously, Please note don't use High Pressure.
Fix 4: Make changes
in settings
There are some changes in below settings which
helps to fix low call volume issue in iPhone 6 or improve the volume :

Settings >
General > Accessibility. Under interaction Call Audio Routing, and select
Headset.

General > Accessibility> Hearing
Hearing Aid = Off

Mono Audio = On
or Off (does not seem to matter)
4.
Phone Noise
Cancellation = On or Off (does not seem to matter)
Adjusted the audio volume balance
(L------------R) all the way to the Left and had normal volume.
