Many iPhone users are reporting that in iPhone the
Reachability is not working after iOS 12update. The Reachability randomly
stopped working in iPhone 8plus after iOS update. Generally a restart will fix
it will reachability feature will stop working after sometimes randomly. The
reachability is also commonly known as double tap.
The reachability is great feature in iPhone that helps
users to access the iPhone singly handedly by just double tapping on the home
button. But after the iOS 11/12 update the feature has stopped working. To turn
on the reachability feature Go to Settings > General > Accessibility and
scroll down to Reachability. Make sure it is enabled.
How to fix iPhone 8 Plus/7/6s plus reachability not working: iOS 12
Fix 1:
Tap properly
If you have added a screen tempered glass on the
iPhone screen, make sure finger makes full contact with the entire button on
the double tab. If you use only used the tip of my thumb it would not work for
this feature. Maybe it's because the
.3mm of raised glass prevents sensor reading correctly.
Fix 2 :
Screen replacement
Some of the iPhone X report that after screen
replacement the reachability feature has stopped working. In such cases you should
take the iPhone to Apple store and get the replacement checked; done properly
or not.
Fix 3:
Get checked you home button
There are chances that tap on the home button is not
happening properly making reachability feature randomly accessible or sometimes
just not working. Like one who was facing the issue “Reachability not working”

“I resolved my problem, the physical button has a
small nick on it and it rotates. I simply rotated it a little and it started
working all of a sudden. Hope it holds up a little longer.”
