Can't add Notes in contacts :
Many
iPhone users are facing issue in editing their contacts that they Can't add a
note to a contact on iPhone 6s. The
notes section seems to be there in the iPhone contacts but can't add notes on
iphone. When user tap on notes section to edit, nothing happens to edit the
notes section and the iPhone user is unable to add notes to contacts and it
seems that iphone contact notes field is not working anymore.

The
iphone can’t add contacts seems to be spread across various other iPhone models
as well as some of the iPhone 7, 8 plus , XS MAX, XR users are also reporting about
the same issue. The issue is a old issue in iPhone but surprisingly the issue
still persist on iPhone 6s with iOS 12.1/12.2. “Notes” is not grayed out, but
when I tap in the box, nothing happens.

How to fix Notes in contact not working on iPhone X/XR/XS MAX/7 8 Plus/ 6s on iOS 12 :
Workaround 1: Clicking
precisely below the N
This
seems to be software bug in the iOS 11/12 and there is a workaround to add
notes to iPhone contacts, When you
“click” on Notes, you MUST click directly below the N in Notes. You can’t click
ON it or just anywhere in the box. It has to be directly below the N. For me
this always works, whether in view mode or edit mode.
Workaround 2: Add note
without edit mode
For
some of the iPhone users, they are able to add a note to contact by tapping on
notes area before tapping the edit button. This is weird but seems like it
works.
You can
further try to tap in the notes section AND HOLD to bring up the keyboard
(without tapping edit first).
Workaround 3: Use
iCloud and other Apple device
If it
is very important for you add notes and none of above solution helped you, This
workaround will only work if you have any other Apple device. In the other
Apple device like iPad you can edit and add notes to the contacts and later
sync it to iCloud. The changes should appear on the iPhone as well.
The permanent
fix for the issue “notes in contacts not working” is to keep
updating your iPhone to latest iOS version. As Apple is generally aware of such
issue and hopefully will roll out a permanent fix for the same in future.
