With
launch of latest iPhone 11 Pro Max and new iOS 13, Apple have launched so many
new features in the iOS 13 like dark mode etc. But many iPhone users are facing
multiple issues with iPhone on iOS 13/ iOS 13.1 which are related to either
iPhone performance or its operation. Not only the iPhone XS/XR/ 8/7 Plus phones
are impacted due to this but many apps are also impacted due to iOS 13
udpation.
As
mentioned, one problem faced by iPhone users with Instagram app also. The issue
is in iOS 13 Instagram stories do not play any sound or are muted when iPhone
is kept in Silent mode. The issue is only when iPhoen is in silent mode and
there are not issue in ringer mode of iPhone. This seems like iOS 13 has caused
Instagram stories to mute its sound due to which iPhone do not play instagram
sound at all. This is very frustrating for iPhone users as this was never the
case with older iOS 12.
One
iPhone user quoted the issue :
“not
able to hear sound of instagram stories when my iphone is on silent mode.
Previously i was working fine when I didn’t updated to ios 13. I was able to
hear sound of instagram stories on silent mode by pressing volume up key but in
ios 13 it is not working i have to switch to ringer mode for stories sound.”
How to
fix Instagram stories not playing sound in iOS 13.1 on iPhone XS Max/ XR/
8/7/6s Plus :
Fix 1:
Check for pending Update
Quite
possible that with release of iOS 13, Instagram have also released new version
of it, while addressing iOS 13 changes and if so, there will no such issues in
the latest version. It is always recommended to update the apps from time to
time.
Fix 2:
Reinstall the app
Sometimes
the apps does not get installed properly after restore/update process of iOS
13. To eliminate any such issue you should consider reinstalling the app and it
is quite possible that any minor bug due ti installation will be removed by
this.
Fix 3 :
Report to Instagram
iOS 13
is not only a big change for users but for app developers. It is possible that
iOS 13 changes might have broken instagram, which needs to be addressed
by Instagram. If you keep on facing this issue you should report this problem
to Instagram for permanent fix :
Fix 4: Reset network settings on your iPhone .
A
network settings reset may be necessary especially if the new update may have
bobbled the phone’s network configurations. As a result, network errors
occurred and are thereby afflicting network functions and online apps including
Instagram. Tap Settings from the Home screen.
- Tap General.>Scroll to and
tap Reset.>Select Reset network settings from
the given options. > Now, enter your device passcode to continue.>Then
tap to confirm settings reset.
iPhone
will restart automatically when the reset is finished. After the restart, set
up and connect to your Wi-Fi network to use Internet services on your device
Instagram, launch the app and see how it works.
Hope
this article helps you to fix the issue.
