How to fix Photos in iMessage disappeared after iOS 14/ iOS 13 update


iPhone XS, 8 users are reporting issue with latest iOS 13 update that after updating to iOS 13, all photos /images previously sent and received through iMessage are gone. The photos in iMessage were accessible with iOS 12.4 but after updating iPhone to iOS 13 Photos in iMessage disappeared. This can be serious issue for many iPhone users as the photos means a lot sometimes to a person.

To check list of list of photos exchanged in iPhone you have click on a message followed by the ‘i’ buttom on the message thread, but the picture list appears to be empty. Fix 1 : Wait for sometime to restore pic in iMessage


The major updates generally reset the complete iOS system and sometimes apps takes time to restore data from older version. Fix 2: Scroll and find in the conversation


The photos missing in iMessage on iOS 13 seems to be a bug in iOS 13, as you can not see the  photos when you click on a message followed by the ‘i’ button all messages exchanged are gone. you can scroll through the conversation they should all still there as before.



Fix 3: Toggle iMessage Off and On
Go to Settings > Messages and toggle iMessage off. Restart your device and then return to those same settings and toggle iMessage back on.
If that didn’t do the trick, try signing out of iMessage and then signing back in with your Apple ID.

Go to Settings > Messages > Send & Receive. Tap your Apple ID and choose Sign Out. Wait a few seconds, and then sign back in with your Apple ID

Fix 4: Hard restart the iPhone
Hard reset can help any app to restart again in the system and recover from pending issues. You should try hard resetting the iPhoen and check if this helps to recover the iMessage pics in iOS 13.



For iPhone X Series, iPad with no Home Button, iPhone 8, or iPhone 8 Plus: Press and quickly release the Volume Up button. Press and immediately release the Volume Down button. Then, press and hold the Side button until you see the Apple logo.
For iPhone 7 or iPhone 7 Plus: Press and hold both the Sleep/Wake and Volume Down buttons for at least ten seconds, until you see the Apple logo
For iPhone 6s and earlier, iPad with Home Button, or iPod touch: Press and hold both the Sleep/Wake and Home buttons for at least ten seconds, until you see the Apple logo.
After the restart leave the iPhone for 1-2 hours and check it he images reappering under the info tab.



Fix 5: Update to iOS 13.1
You can report such issue in apple feedback section. Apple engineer usually fix such high issues immediately and release it in next release of iOS 13. So it is recommended to always update to latest releases of iOS to have a permanent fix.
