Many
iPhone XS Max/ XR users are facing issue with latet iOS 13 (iOS 13.1.3 and iOS
13.1.2 ) update that message notifications are not working in their iPhone.
Messages are received properly but there are no notification in iOS 13 when
they arrive. The issue is intermittent for some users as text message will make
sounds randomly for some messages but not for all. Not only the sound
notification but even the badge icon doesn’t show up. Even Facebook is not
making notification sounds from messages.

Even
calls sound is also affected by this issue, iPhone will not ring on incoming
calls or text. As a troubleshooting
steps when tried to reset the iPhone, that also do not seems to help to fix the
issue. The issue is also seen in the Apple watch notification, the notification
do not work with latest iOS 13 on Apple watch, seems like an issue with the
notification mirroring also. The issue is very annoying for iPhone users as
they are likely to miss important notifications.

fix no sound for notification on

Fix 1 :
Check default text tone
Some
users report that the default text tone is set NONE for them after the update to iOS 13.1.2 which is causing the issue. So Please go and check in settings if it helps to
fix the issue.
Fix 2:
Update to iOS 13.2
Some
iPhone users have confirmed that updating their iPhone to latest iOS 13.2 has
fixed the issue. Apple seems to have fix the issue in the latest iOS 13.2
release. So it is always recommended to update to latest iOS version for
software glitches.
So to
completely fix :

Upgrade to iOS 13.2

Launch all apps with notifications (The app
should fetch the corrected notifications on launch) FB / Whatsapp / Messages
etc etc.

If the app still does not give you notification,
reinstall it. (iPhone should prompt the "Allow Notification" again).
