How to remove Apple TV option while putting call on speaker

iPhone 7/XS/11 Pro Max after updating to latest iOS 13.2 are facing issue that the while they are on call and try to place the call in speaker, iphone will prompt asking if you want this as speaker call or Apple TV /Apple devices call. As soon as you press the Speaker icon, options show on the screen to either choose Speaker. The Apple TV is showing up as a speakerphone (audio) option when on a phone call. This is very annoying for iPhone users as this will now take two taps to switch phone to speaker mode. Which is very annoying to see Apple TV as an audio out option while putting a call in speaker mode. The issue seems to be with 4K Apple TV More frequently.

iPhone showing Apple TV as speaker option

The issue is not limited to only Apple TV but with Airplay Apple devices. For Example if you have different Apple devices and place a call on speaker, It will ask for  speaker, Apple TV, iPad and MacBook speakers. The behavior started after iOS 13 on iPhone X/8/7 Plus and all iPhone modes including latest iPhone 11 Pro Max. Surely this is software issue, we can’t say if this is a bug or new behaviour added by Apple. Seems much more like a bug and less like a feature. But there does not seems to be a simple way to stop iPhone from listing iMac/Apple TV/Airplay devices as audio source during phone call.
One iPhone X user reported as
My wife has this issue on her XS Max. One of our Apple TVs shows as an audio source during a phone call. Even when away from the house and using cell signal only. How can I remove Apple devices from speaker option be fixed?”

How to remove Apple Devices from iPhone while placing a call on speaker:

Fix 1: Allow Calls on Other Devices

Go to your iPhone Settings -> Phone -> Calls on Other Devices > un-check the Mac/Apple TV. Then switch off the "Allow Calls on Other Devices" toggle switch and restart the iPhone.

Please note that  only switching off the "Allow Calls on Other Devices" toggle switch does NOT solve the problem - the Macs/Apple Tv remain in the audio options list even if that option is off. You need to leave the option on and un-check each device before toggling the option off. Please ensure the restart the iPhone to see the changes.

Fix 2: Turn OFF WIFI  and Bluetooth

You will always see your AirPlay devices if wifi is turned on. Please turn WIFI off on the phone, you should now only see the speaker option. Please note to turn off WIFI and Bluetooth from the settings not the shortcut.

Fix 3: Unpair the devices

If none of above solution helps to fix the issue you should try unpairing the device and pairing it up again (if needed). Just remove the iPhone and iPad using the physical remote of the Apple TV. Apple TV  >Settings > Remotes and Devices > Remote App and Devices > Unpair your iPhone - That fixed the problem for many users.

Fix 4: Log out from iCloud

You should try to Log out of iCloud on your AppleTV, then restart both AppleTV and phone. To disable this you must go into Settings on each Apple TV, Accounts and log out of your icloud account, then Restart both your Apple TV and your iPhone.

1.    From your Apple TV, open Settings
2.   Navigate to User and Accounts and select iCloud
3.   Click on Sign Out

Then go back to Settings on your Apple TV:

1.    Scroll and select Remotes and Devices
2.   Select Remote App and Devices

3.   Tap on Your iPhone and select Unpair Device
4.   Restart your Apple TV and iPhone

After you have restarted both the Apple TV and iPhone, call yourself and test the speaker.
Now test the issue, for many users this has worked. You can later login back on the devices.

Fix 5: Hard restart your iPhone
Please see this apple support page to check how to hard restart different iPhones.

-       Not sure if apple has added this as feature in iOS 13 and tvOS 13 , but this is surely a very annoying for iPhone users. Apple should always make such feature as optional.
