iOS 13.6.1 WiFi keeps on disconnecting/dropping : iPhone 11/XS Max


Many iPhone X, iPad users are facing issue after updating to latest iOS 13.6 that the WIFI keeps on dropping almost after few seconds. For some time the WIFI works fine but after few seconds or minutes there is a noticeable latency in WIFI speed and sometime the internet over WIFI becomes so slow that the FaceTime call ends immediately. The issue is so frequent that it is nearly impossible to use internet. This is surely a bug with iOS 13.6 as all other devices connected with same WIFI are working normally and the iPhone X Worked just fine with iOS 13.6. On iPhone XS Max the WiFi icon shows full strength but all Internet apps stop working.

Fix 1: Reboot the router and iPhone

One troubleshooting step to fix WiFi not working on iOS 13.4 is to restart both your router and  iPhone device . After the reboot is done check how WIFI connection works now.


Fix 2 : Reset Network setting


In case of WIFI issue on iPhone other troubleshooting is to do network reset on iPhone (Goto Setting->General->reset->Netword Reset). This will remove any network related glitches from your iPhone.


Fix 3: Toggle WIFI

This is a quick workaround to make your apps usable. Toggling WIFI On or OFF may help to restore the WIFI for the moment. But the issue may appear after some times.

Fix 4: Disable Wifi Assist
Please disable WiFi Assist on iPhone 
Go to->Settings > Mobile Data > Wifi Assist -> Turn off [Disable] 
Enabling this would use Cellular Data whenever WiFi connection is poor


Fix: Change Router frequency
iPhone 11 user facing  slow/latency with WIFI speed issue is reported with WIFI routers operating with 5GHz frequency.  You should try to  switch to 2.4ghz network by changing network settings of Router , and check for improvements.
