Many iPhone 7, XS,12 Pro Max users are facing issue with delay in starting Bluetooth and causing issue like late response from Google Maps or missing starting message like instead of saying “In 100 meter turn right” it says “..Turn right” only. Some time the Google Map cut off for first couple of seconds which is very weird.
The Bluetooth delay in Apple maps and Google Maps started after iOS 14, prior to iOS 14 directions were clearly announced, no delay. Now with 14 I miss the first portion of direction. The issue seems to be across different cars like Tesla, Mercedes etc and there is terrible delay in maps.

Fix 1 : Connect through Lighting cable and Turn off Play voice over Bluetooth
One easy way/Workaround is to get on time voice directions from Google is to use connect your iPhone to the car using Lightening cable. And set the Google maps to use USB connection to giving voice directions guide.

-Open Google Maps in the iPhone
- You may now chose a direction and start navigation so that google start directing you using voice.
-Tap the arrow pointing up on the screen
- Now you can see Setting options, tap on it
-Under Navigation Setting Turn off “Play Voice Over Bluetooth”

Fix 2: Turn off Radio
It seems like if Radio is turned on in the car, the Google maps will miss first few seconds. May be Apple iPhone is not able to switch properly to maps from Radio.
Fix 3: Turn on the Music First
Many iPhone users who are first playing music using Bluetooth in the car are not facing the issue. First start using the Bluetooth on music and when you start google maps , it should work well.
