Disney plus downloads not playing offline/ deleted from app ? [Fixed]


Disney plus provides its user a great feature to download the shows , movies on the app/iPhone/Android and the user can watch them later on without even having an internet connection. But many Disney plus users are reporting issue with the download in the app that Disney plus downloads are not working or not playing in offline mode, it shows always an error after loading for a second.

The downloaded videos in some cases play fine up to certain time and after that stops working and suddenly deleted everything. In some worst cases the Downloaded content is NEVER available for viewing offline as it is deleted from the app but keeps on taking system storage. 


While trying to watch the downloaded videos the Disney plus app will not authenticate and allow playback when viewing offline. Even in some case all the downloaded shows are missing from the app as they are deleted.


For the downloaded shows When connected to internet and checked the downloaded shows are missing from Disney plus app. But when checked the system settings and all the shows are there in phone taking up space. But can’t get them to show up in the app at all.



How to fix Downloaded videos deleted /missing/ disappeared from the Disney Plus app on iPhone / Android phone/ iPad 


Fix : Refresh the app 


If you are not seeing your download shows in the Disney+ app then we recommend to Sign out of Disney Plus on all devices and sign in again. Check if it shows download now. 


Fix : Turn On airplane mode


If your downloads are not playing in Disney plus and saying it needs connection. Then you may try a workaround for it. Please put your phone in airplane mode rather than losing signal abruptly while watching the videos. 


Fix :  Delete the app and redownload the shows


If Disney plus app is not showing downloaded shows then there might be some software glitch in the app and to fix that issue you should restart your device. Make sure you're using the latest version of the app. Reinstall the app from app store/ playstore. Re-download the content. This should work fine now. 


Fix : Report issue to developer

So why do I keep getting told to connect to the internet to watch downloads. I thought that was the whole point of watching off-line.

Disney is corrupt as fk. I have YouTube premium, absolutely 0 problems watching offline, I have a premium Netflix at 18.99 and have zero problem playing offline, yet here comes Disney plus , something I pay almost 15$ after tax and I've never got downloaded content working, ever. I feel like they treat their users like Scarlett Johansson, lots of false promises but then screw them over. I've downloaded multiple seasons of the Simpsons and American Dad and literally won't work unless I'm online, making it redundant, on top of that if my connection is slow it won't work either , making OFFLINE downloads completely pointless, I'm literally considering cancelling my membership because this is absolutely ridiculous, especially considering I only use it when I travel, making their "offline playback" extremely useless. This needs to be fixed NOW, it's not a glitch, it's either intentional in Disney's side, or they're just bad at making a useful feature, I see it as the same thing. Congratulations you lost a paying customer, along with my friends and family who all have premium memberships, or at least used to

Make sure you are logged into your D+ account. I used my phone as a hot spot, logged in, then disconnected and all of my downloads worked again. I don't know if you can log in without being connected to the Internet, nor do I know how I had gotten logged off.
