The iPhone users are reporting issue with the latest iOS version that when they try to block a number and do not wish to you calls and messages from that number, but the iPhone still receives messages from the blocked number. The iPhone still receives SMS and iMessage from a blocked number. This is very weird that Blocked iMessages still coming through in iPhone?

The Blocked number still able to send messages is big issue and widespread across different Apple devices like iPhone 12 Pro Max, XS, 8 etc running on the latest iOS 14.6. This is happening not only for “bulk SMS providers “but also for specific contact. The blocked numbers regardless are still able to reach out to the iPhone users.
How to fix Text Still Coming through in the iPhone from a blocked number: iPhone 12/11/XR/XS/8/7 on iOS 14
Fix 1 : Block and reboot the iPhone
To avoid any software glitch which may allow blocked number to send SMS or iMessage to you, please first unblocked the number and then blocked them again. Now turn phone off then back ON. I hope this will fix the issue.
Fix 2 : If blocked messages are received on iMessage only
A person can send you iMessage using your phone number and AppleId. If you have blocked the phone number , they can still send you message using your email viz AppleID. In case of iMessage Apple Id can also be used. If they are using the Apple ID, you cannot block it. That could be why you are receiving the message. f you only have their phone number and you block it, you are only blocking the phone number associate with their iMessage account, not their entire iMessage account. So they can still contact you using their iMessage email.You would have to check to see what they are sending it from.
To do that, Go to your blocked list and see what the contact name is. If it is the unformatted number (XXXXXXXXX instead of (XXX)XXX-XXXX), then your device probably recognizes the iMessage account and is referring to it as the listed contact name under blocked accounts.
Fix 3 : Numbers that can’t be blocked
Some of the Number associated with an organization cannot be directly blocked by your iPhone, In this case you will have to block the Number from your network carrier provider. Please check with carrier provider to set your preference for promotional messages. Below pic shows which number can be blocked and which can not be in the iPhone.
