How to Fix Netflix Black Screen with Sound on Start/End minutes of Episode: iPhone 12 Pro Max / iPad

 

 

Netflix is now one of the largest OTT platform with worldwide reach. The Netflix can be watched over different type of devices like phone, tablet, Smart TV etc. But recently many users including iPhone 12 Pro Max, iPhone 13 Pro Max/ Mini, 11,XR, XS  are reporting issue with the Netflix that while trying to watch a movie or series the Netflix screen goes black but the sound keeps on playing with black screen on the iPhone.

Fix 1: Close the app from RAM

 

On your iPhone , try to close the Netflix app and clear its data from RAM. To do that just open application windown->swipe up to close the Netflix app. Re-launch the app again and check if the issue persists.

 

Fix 2: Hard restart the iPhone

 

The blank screen on the Netflix app on iPhone could occur due to some software glitch. To fix such glitches you should hard restart the iPhone. Please check this APPLE guidelines to hard restart the iPhone.

 

Fix 3: Check Status of Netflix Servers.

 

The Netflix issue could be due to regular server maintenance of , the first thing that you should always do is to verify if the problem is with Netflix or your end. To do this, visit Netflix’s dedicated status page to check if there’s an issue with their servers.

 

Fix 5: Turn off VPN

 

Some Netflix user are using VPN to access Netflix content which is blocked in their region. Netflix always tries to flag down such users by blocking access to them. Please stop the VPN service and check if the Netflix shows load fine or not.  

Fix 6: Try Relogin to your iPhone

 

There are chances that the user data may have got corrupted during Netflix update and to fix that you sould try to re-login to your device.

·       First, open the Netflix app on your device.

·       After that, tap on your Profile icon from the top right corner of your display.

·        tap the Sign Out button at the bottom of your screen.

 

Fix 7: Turn off Battery saver Mode

Fix 8 : Download and Watch the Show

 

To fix Netflix black screen issue, downloading the episode/movie makes the black screen go away. Netflix black screen at last 2-3 minutes of episodes seems to be bug in the Netflix app with iPhone. Fix 9: Try watching show on other device

 

The Netflix showing black screen at end of show issue  could be limited to your device only. To Check that try loggin in on different device like iPad, Android phone or other Webversion on Google Chrome.

 

Fix 9: Use Miniplayer/ PIPmode

 

It seems that the Netflix does not have black screen in the Miniplayer mode/ Picture in Picture.

To Launch PiP, while watching a show-> On the video player controls, you should see a PiP icon in the bottom right corner. This will take the video to a separate smaller screen, which you can resize by pinching with your fingers. You can do this for last few minutes to avoid Netflix going black during climax of an episode.

If your app if running on older version then the app might have issue in setting connection to servers.
