Many Instagram user are facing issue while watching Reels and Stories that Instagram sound for Reels and Stories is not working in iPhone 12. Instagram is now fastest growing social media app and is continuously adding many feature to it. But this is surprising to see no sound on Instagram stories after iPhone is updated to /iOS 17. Fix 1 : Toggle Mute Button on iPhone
The easy workaround to fix no sound issue in Instagram stories is to try switching the mute button (on side of iPhone) on/off and toggling sounds higher/lower multiple times. This seems to fix the issue most of the time for the iPhone users to play sound on Instagram stories.
Fix 2 : Force Close the app
Other way to fix no sound on Instagram stories is to force close the Instagram app. Open the applications window in iPhone and Swipe up the apps to force close the app and clear it from RAM. Reopen the Instagram and check if the issue is fixed or not.
Fix 3 : Turn off mic and camera
To fix Instagram stores not playing sound first you Close the Instagram. On your iPhone settings -> Go to Instagram-> tap on setting turn off mic and camera access. Then start app again, click top left camera icon re enable camera and mic access, find story with sound use volume rocker and it should work will being in silent mode.
Fix 4: Delete and Reinstall the app
There are chances that due to some software/ OS glitch sound in the Instagram stories are not playing always. To fix that you should uninstall the app and reinstall the app again.
