Many Macook Air/Pro users are reporting issue while watching Netflix shows on it. The issue is the Macbook screen flickers brightness randomly for a fraction of seconds repeatedly. Fix : Turn on Automatic Graphics Switching settings
The macbook pro have dual graphic card and mac can switch between the card to save battery etc.
The solution to the problem is to go to System Settings and select Energy Savings.
There you’ll find the checkbox, “Automatic Graphics Switching”, which is turned on by default. Uncheck the tickbox and the flickering stops.
Fix : Turn off Shake Mouse pointer settings
Lots of macbook users have reported that by turning off the “shake mouse pointer to locate” option in Accessibility Fixes the problem and the macbook screen does not flicker anymore
Go to “System Preferances” -> “Availability” -> “Screen” -> “Cursor” and turn the check box for shaking the cursor to find it OFF or ON .
Fix : Turn off Automatically Adjust Brightness
Other way to fix Netflix screen flicker is to turn off the Automatic Adjust brightness. This will improve the flicker issue of Netflix.
To turn off ‘Automatically adjust brightness’ Go to to Macbook System Preferences - > Displays.
Fix : Turn on Battery optimization for Video Stream
There is another setting of mac Battery which may improve the Netflix screen flicker issue. Go to -> System Preferences > Battery. Enable optimize video streaming while on battery in the battery
Fix: Use Firefox
There is another workaround to watch Netflix series withour screen flicker in the mac, As the issue is with Chrome and Safari browser. But surprignly the issue is not with the Firefox browser. Please try watching Netflix on Firefox browser on your MacBook and the screen should not flicker.

Also try to keep your Macbook to latest OS version avilanle as this will fix any other software glitces in the Macbook
- Shut down your Mac by going Apple menu >Shutdown.
- Update the OS on your Mac.
- Reset the System Management Controller (SMC).
- Reset the PRAM (or NVRAM).
