How  to fix Google tv remote not working light on : On chromcast/ Philips/ Google TV

Fix : Remove the battery and reinsert it

The easiest way to fix Google TV remote not working is to take out battery of the remote and reinsert it. This will boot up the remote again and it should come up normally after that. You may ignore the update from Google and later on can update to some other latest version.

-Take the batteries out of the remote.

-Press the small button on the *Chromecast dongle/device itself. This starts the scan for Bluetooth accessories.

-Put the batteries back in.

-The remote should automatically pair. If it does not, repeat steps 1-3 (Please give it a try 203 times and it should work).

Fix : Reset the TV

If Google TV remote is not working after the update then try to reset the Google TV or any other supported TV like Philips or sony Bravia etc.

Fix : Download app from Playstore

Download the Android Remote Control app from the play store.  Connect to the Chromecast and use the phone remote app to navigate to settings and remove the remote.  Now Press both the home and back buttons together on the remote until it shows the light on the bottom to indicate pairing mode.

In settings press "Pair remote or accessory" under the Remotes and Accessories section.  This will repair the remote.

If pressing the buttons on the remote unsuccessfully places it in pairing mode, remove the batteries and place them back in, that should do it.

Do not reattempt the remote update it will continue to fail.

I tried everything listed. No good. I bent it in half and trashed it. When I clean my TV, I'll destroy the chromecast so no info can be obtained from it.

Total trash.
