How to fix iPhone Screen is Dimming Randomly ?

 

Many iPhone 14/13 Pro Max/X users are facing issue with it that the iPhone 13 Pro keeps on dimming on its own randomly. The iPhone keeps dimming quite a bit as well as getting warm and there are no applications running. Even when the Auto brightness is turned off the iPhone  13 screen will dim on its own , which makes it difficult to work with the phone in different lights.

The issue is more frequent during the time when the screen is hot. It seems that the issue is linked to warm condition of the iPhone and it will change the screen brightness on its own. Some of the iPhone 13 users after replacing the screen are still seeing the issue. The issue is not linked to hardware but the software of iOS 15, as many users across different location are facing iPhone dimming issue.

 

How to fix iPhone screen brightness keeps Auto Dimming ?

 

Fix : Turn Off Attention aware features

 

For many iPhone 13 users who were facing auto dimming issue in the iPhone are able to fix the issue from changing Attention Aware feature. Go to iPhone Settings-> Accessibility -> Turn the attention aware features off. It seems to be working for most of the users.

 

Fix : Turn off reduce white point

 

One other common setting to fix iPhone 13 screen dimming brightness is to change the White Point Settings. Go to Settings-> Accessibility-> scroll down and turn off White Point option.   

 Fix : Dark Appearance settings

Other setting that can cause your iPhone screen to get dim is Dark Appearance. Check Settings-->Wallpapers-->Dark Appearance Dims Wallpaper.

If it is on, your iPhone screen will be dimmed.

Fix  : Reset Settings

 

If your iPhone is not working  properly and keeps lowering down the brightness then this could be due related to configuration setting.  To fix that , try to reset iPhone setting to default and check if this helps.  Go to iPhone Settings-> General->Reset or Transfer iPhone-> Reset settings. You iPhone will reboot after this and all default setting will be loaded in the iPhone.
