Many iPhone 13,12 Pro,
iPad users are facing issue after updating the device to latest iOS 15.4 that
Safari is showing black screen while playing any video on it. The video keeps
playing as the iPhone is giving sound but fails to show video on the Safari.
The issue is badly affected users as even YouTube video on Safari screen is black after
iOS 15.4 update.

The issue started after
recent update of iOS 15.4 and prior to that everything was working fine on the
iPhone and safari video playback. This is annoying as the video is playing
sound all the time but just no video is shown on safari. Not only on safari but
also on the other browser the issue is reported. The issue is related to iOS
15.4 and most probably a software bug on the new iOS.
Earlier for some users
disabling the “GPU Process: Media” in the experimental features seems to fix
the issue but in the iOS 15.4 even this option is now working.
How
to fix videos in Safari and Chrome play with sound

Workaround :
Since
most of the browsers fails to show any video , there is a workaround on
iPhone/iOS 15.4 to show video, all you need to do is download the app called
"private browser" or OnionBrowser from the Appstore, it has a violet background and a fingerprint
icon. You can watch there any videos. You can use that while waiting for
another update.
Workaround 2: Reset iPhone Settings
Other
reason why the iPhone is showing black screen on safari video could be due to setting
issue. Please reset iPhone setting to default and check if this helps. Go to
iPhone->General->Reset or Transfer iPhone-> Reset Settings. You iPhone
will reboot in this process and hope this fixes the issue .
Fix : Update iPhone
Since
the issue is added in the iOS 15.4 and seem to related to GPU services, thus
only Apple can fix the issue. Please keep updating the iPhone to latest version
of new iOS for a permanent fix.
