from opening up to my first tab on my iPhone. Earlier the safari used to open up to most recent tab used but after the latest iOS 15 udpate, it always skips to my first one. This is annoying issue in the Safari. The issue is not limited to this only but also other issue is reported with the Safari that if you close tabs multiple times , it would just reappear once you will open safari again after a few minutes.
Safari keeps opening first tab: iPhone 13/iOS 15
The issue
is reported on all iPhone models and iPad that Whenever you will open safari on
iPhone12, it’s opening up first tab by default rather than latest tab.This
makes difficult to scroll through all tabs to find the latest one.

Fix: Toggle Single Tab settings
If safari
on iPhone is opening first tab rather then the latest one, then this solution
may help you.
This
worked for me:
1- open
Settings on iPhone
2- scroll
down to find Safari and tap on it
3- scroll
down to Tabs
Have
single tab selected.
4- Change
selection to Tab Bar.
5- Close
and reopen Safari 6- Continue in Settings/Safari/Tabs and change back to single
tab
7- Close
and reopen Safari
Fix : Check Settings on Safari
To fix Safari opening
old tab
- > Go to settings on
iPhone
->Safari
->downloads.
-> check if it says iCloud,
then the problem happens because it’s deleting tabs after it uploads them. To
fix that Click on iCloud and change it to my iPhone. Then below that, it asks
“Delete downloaded items” and choose “manually. “ This seems to fix the problem
for many users.
Also make sure that
under Safari, Tabs section that you choose to close them manually.
