X/7 users are facing issue that after iOS 12.2 update profiles and device
management missing in ios 12. Usually
the profile and device management setting are in Settings->General (at last)
in iPhone but after the update the section is missing from the list. Even for
iPad Mini, iPhone 6s Plus, the profiles and device management missing iOS 12.
The iPhone user can't find profile in settings.
After
the update the users are still confused that why the feature ’Profile & Device
Management’ is now missing from settings, nothing else seems to get changed
other than the fact that feature was once there in iOS 11/iOS 10 but now in iOS
12 it isn’t.
What is profile & Device management in iOS / iPhone/ iPad:
Device
management refers to profiles that manage or restrict certain behaviors on your
device as in instances where it's company owned iPhone.

Typically
if you don't see profile option in iPhone, it's because there is no
profile on the device at the moment. The option for profiles in settings,
general is only available if you already have a profile installed. Talk to your
IT department for more assistance. Profiles/device management is only an option
if your device has a profile installed on it or is managed and supervised.
Otherwise it's lack of presence is entirely normal.
How to fix profiles and device management missing from settings in iOS 12/11 and iPhone XR/XS Max/ 8/7 /6s Plus :
Fix 1 : Download Apple
Developer profile
If you
are sure that you have old profile installed in iPhone that are missing after
iOS 12.2 update, as there is no option to access profiles in Setting. It is
recommended to try downloading another profile to see if the old one
shows up in the "Profiles" section.

Go to beta.apple.com -> Sign in with your
Apple account

Once you are logged in -> Tap on “Enroll your Device”-> Scroll Down
and tap on Download profile

This will take you to setting to Install the
profile-> tap on Install
·
Now reboot your iPhone and Go to Setting-> General.
Now you should be able to see the ‘Profile’ option in setting under VPN.
Fix 2 : Download third
party apps
Try
downloading third party apps directly from their website (eg your office app)
and install in iPhone. Please try again in case you fail to install the app.
Once the installation is complete you should be able to see profile and device
management under VPN Setting in General.
Fix 3: Update to
latest iOS version
Even if
you are not able to see profile in Setting on iPhone, you should keep updating to
the latest iOS 12 version on your device. Apple is generally aware of such
issue and probably will launch a permanent fix in upcoming release of iOS.
