iPhone XS stuck in True Tone Display during the setup process


Apple have added a new technology called true tone to their iPhone, iPad devices and with this feature the iPhones and other Apple devices like iPad devices with True Tone technology will be more readable even in direct sunlight or at night. But there are some reports where users reports in the Apple community that the iPhone stuck in True Tone Display during the setup process. The issue is not only with iPhone 7,8 but also reported while setting up iPhone XS Max with iOS 12 as well. While setting up the iPhone XS the iPhone stuck in True Tone Display during the setup process.

While loading the back up from iCloud on new iPhone while setting it up the user will see on the upper right hand corner a spinning wheel of death. And to fix that when user try to exit and clicks continue and nothing happens. In fact the option for emergency call, start over, wifi settings, and shut down appears but is also unresponsive.  Each time, iPhone gets stuck at the True Tone Display screen while loading back up from iCloud.

Fix 1:  Start the iPhone as new


This method is most successful way to fix when iPhone gets stuck at True tone display while loading iClound back. You should also give this and  and fix is like this:
Step 1- start your phone like a new one!
Step 2- once open, update the IOS to the latest version;
Step 3- enter in your iCloud to verify if your back up is there. Settings>your name>Manage store>backups.
Step  4- if it is there, got to settings>general>Reset>erase all content and settings.
The settings will start all over again. In app and data start from iCloud and choose your backup. It should work.

Fix 2:Connect using iTunes


While loading the backup from iCloud if you are facing this issue, to avoid this you can try to load back up from iTunes. Connect to itunes and reset the iphone. Now you have to back up and avoid setting up things like "pin password" or "face ID", skip all those and you will finally get to backup your phone. Make sure you are connected to a good wi-fi network

Fix 3 : Use same old password as new


Some user who were facing the issue stated that the during the setup process when it asks to create new passcode, if you enter the same passcode that you had previously on your iPhone, the issue will not occur. Please give it a try and let us know if it helped in comment section.

Fix 4 : Skip setting up Passcode

If Fix 3 did not help you , another way to fix the issue by skipping passcode while loading the iOS in you iPhone. Don’t enter any passcode while setting up your iPhone and iphone should not stuck at true tone settings.

Fix 5: change lighting in room

Since true tone setting in iPhone is for making iPhone screen better according to surrounding light, some reports suggest that by changing the lighting in the room before hitting continue on the True Tone display screen helped to fix the issue.

Fix 6:  Disable True Tone on iPhone.



If you think that the True tone will slow down the iPhone or other reasons, you can choose to turn it off.
a). Go to iPhone Settings -> Display & Brightness -> Turn off True Tone.
Now take the backup of your old iPhone and now when you will load this back up on your new iPhone the phone should come up fine now.
